McCarthyism Over Climate Change is a Distraction From the Real Green Issues

I’m heading up this article with a graph showing how our Earth’s climate has changed over the last 10,000 years because the way some politicians today go on, you’d think they invented it. One wonders if the Palaeolithic cave men were taxed for burning too many trees?

The mainstream media, under governmental nudge unit’s instruction, are now being told to replace the term ‘climate change’ to ‘climate disruption’. This by the way, is a second change in the wording, after ‘global warming’ failed to stick when no matter how much they juggled the figures, it was obvious that the planet hadn’t warmed for more than 15 years.

At the same time, there is now a serious proposal on the table that those who don’t ‘believe in’ (note the religious expression) climate change or disruption should be put into prison. Nobody’s actually saying ‘thought crime’ but isn’t this straight out of one of George Orwell’s worst nightmares?

Recently, a learned professor working in support of the climate change position agreed to take part in an open discussion with ‘climate sceptics’ by joining one of their advisory boards, after which he was put under such inordinate pressure by his colleagues, he was forced to resign.

According to Steve McIntyre of Climate Audit, Lennart Bengtsson undertook a positive dialogue with climate skeptics by joining the advisory board of the Global Warming Policy Foundation, an organisation that attempts to represent rational skepticism.

Instead of welcoming this initiative, the climate “community” has now cleansed Lennart Bengtsson by pressuring him to resign from the GWPF advisory board. Lennart Bengtsson wrote in his resignation letter:

“I have been put under such an enormous group pressure in recent days from all over the world that has become virtually unbearable to me. If this is going to continue, I will be unable to conduct my normal work and will even start to worry about my health and safety. I see therefore no other way out therefore than resigning from GWPF.

“I had not been expecting such an enormous world-wide pressure to be put on me from a community that I have been close to all my active life. Colleagues are withdrawing their support, other colleagues are withdrawing from joint authorship etc. I see no limit and end to what will happen.

“It is a situation that reminds me about the time of McCarthy. I would never have expected anything similar in such an originally peaceful community as meteorology. Apparently it has been transformed in recent years.

“Under this situation, I will be unable to contribute positively to the work of GWPF and consequently therefore I believe it is the best for me to reverse my decision to join its Board at the earliest possible time.”

So surely when McCarthyism is starting to raise its head in the climate change community, and people are being bullied and threatened with imprisonment for holding a different view, it is a clear sign that those who want to tax us over their perceived ‘climate change’ problem have lost the rational scientific argument?

This article, by the way, is not to necessarily encourage a discussion about the whys and wherefores of the climate change debate. I’ve published plenty on that in the past, on The Therapy Book and elsewhere. It’s just that I’m  wondering when it was that we went back to the Galileo Dark Ages of fascist belief systems dictated by religious dogma … I must have blinked at the time.

The rationale behind the proposal to put ‘non-believers’ in climate change or disruption in prison is because we are said to be getting in the way of politicians making the best decisions for the planet.

So I would like to ask further: when did politicians ever listen to anything we say, anyway? And how have they behaving lately in their stewardship of the Earth?

A million people marched against the war in Iraq. It didn’t stop it happening. The major polluters of the planet are the huge juggernaut globalist corporations and banks who are running all our ‘governments’ anyway. They do what they like without fear of censure or fine as they rape the planet of its natural resources and leaves toxic wastelands in their wake.

NATO is polluting the skies, the waters and the land with chemtrails. This international body which was created to keep the peace after World War II now sends in armies to non-aggressors in order to provoke hostilities which could easily escalate into World War III and nuclear devastation. That’s how much these guys love the planet.

The hugely influential biotech companies are hand-in-glove with politicians as they go about destroying our food, the main source of our health, with genetically-modified ingredients and endocrine inhibitors, both of which are causing sterility.

Huge swathes of land in America and Australia, some bigger than the size of Britain itself, have been irredeemably destroyed by various kinds of mining and logging.

And these are the same people who profess to care about the health of the planet so much that they will lock up anyone who disagrees with them about how it should be done?

And so it seems to me that no matter what people believe on climate change, our governments will continue to tax us on it and tell us that climate change is all our fault for not recycling our carrot peelings, while the globalist polluters won’t have to pay any taxes, at all, whatever we say, and the planet will just go on as She always does.

Welcome to the Brave New World.
