Quercetin stops cancer cells in their tracks

Much to the chagrin of those “scientists” who’ve made recent claims that antioxidants may actually be “bad” for you, a new study has come forth to shine light on these disease-fighting powerhouses once again.

Quercetin has proven itself to be quite the cancer-fighting little polyphenol. In fact, it may be one of the most powerful cancer fighters we know of. Continue reading

New research shows Tamiflu to be ineffective

A review from the Cochrane Collaboration — an independent organization advocating the accessibility of systematic healthcare reviews — has recently uncovered clinical evidence showing the lack of effectiveness of anti-viral drugs Tamiflu and Relenza.

Until recently, these documents were only available to manufacturers and regulators. After a four-year effort, however, researchers are now able to assess previously unpublished data on the topic. Continue reading

The Naked Shaman – Episode 13 – The Sanctuary of Avalon

By Ishtar Babilu Dingir

The Sanctuary of Avalon, set up in the early 1960s by Ronald Heaver and Polly Wood was, I believe, the setting for the magical stimulus and catalyst within what I call the inner planes Realms of Potentiality for the Winds of Change taking place today on the world stage. As Heaver himself said …

“It is because all things are being shaken that those things which cannot be shaken may remain, a process now actually taking place – it is because of this that statesmen and politicians find themselves up against stalemate. They are being pushed around by an invisible force that they don’t understand. Men no longer control events. On the contrary the impact of events is controlling them through the reaction they are forced to make in respect to the pressure of over-ruling outward circumstances, evolving all the time.” Continue reading

Know what you’re saying with those roses, this Valentine’s Day

Interflora, for decades, has been using the advertising headline: “Say it with flowers”… and most of us never took them literally.

However, there are people who have enhanced perceptions, often through some kind of shamanic or spiritual practice, and they can hear the language of the flowers. This state is described – in fact, pathologised – by science as synesthesia, “a neurological phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to automatic, involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway.”  Continue reading

How to invite Eros to your erotic, magical love feast on St Valentine’s night

by Annie Dieu-Le-Veut

The subject of libido enhancing foods within shamanic sexual healing is viewed from a wider perspective. To the shaman – who goes into trance to gain guidance from entities known as spirits – sex is all about fertility, and fertility is all about life.

Shamans see sex and death as closely related in that both bring birth: death is just a birth into another world. A shaman often knows which foods are designed to send us into the next world – and thus are passion killers in this one – just by looking at them; they leave the scientists to explain the biochemistry bit. Valentine’s Day Special: Aphrodisiac fungus from caterpillars is prized in China

If you’re looking for an aphrodisiac, the Chinese are very keen on this fungus.

High in the Himalayas grows a highly sought after medicinal fungus known as Himalayan Viagra. And while many global leaders fail to enact policies to protect their own resources, two remote Tibetan communities who harvest the fungus have managed to implement a system to secure a sustainable harvest year after year. Using an innovative resource management system that would likely give most capitalists a regulatory headache, the harvesters work hard to ensure that their livelihood is protected from over use. A discerning gentleman’s guide to great guilt-free sex on St Valentine’s night

By Ishtar Babilu Dingir

In my book, The Sacred Sex Rites of Ishtar, I describe how to practice shamanic sexual healing or sex magic. So far, it’s been selling like Gloria Gaynor’s hot stuff, but mainly to the ladies. I’m wondering what’s making the men shy off, and I think it might be the result of media manipulation which piggy-backed on to some scientific research that emerged in the early Nineties, and led to the publication of two seminal books… and a lot of ribbing after that! When the body says ‘No’: How mental and emotional stress disrupts the body’s processes

Stress is ubiquitous these days — it plays a role in the workplace, in the home, and virtually everywhere that people interact. It can take a heavy toll on individuals unless it is recognized and managed effectively and insightfully.

This is even more true for parents, family members and caregivers of individuals with neuro-behavioural disorders such as FASD, and if left unchecked, accumulated stress goes on to undermine immunity, disrupts the body’s physiological milieu and can prepare the ground for a multitude chronic diseases and conditions.

This presentation by Dr Gabor Mate, adapted for this conference, is based on his When The Body Says No, a best-selling book that has been translated into more than twelve languages on five continents.

How trees talk to one another, by fungi

In this real-life model of forest resilience and regeneration, Professor Suzanne Simard shows that all trees in a forest ecosystem are interconnected, with the largest, oldest, “mother trees” serving as hubs. The underground exchange of nutrients increases the survival of younger trees linked into the network of old trees. Amazingly, we find that in a forest, 1+1 equals more than 2. Continue reading

The people of Britain are all that stands against our green and pleasant land being sold out

balcombe-arrest-pi_2630080b

Many in this country are waking up to just how much drilling for shale gas will destroy us as a nation.

Those who truly love and care about this country are turning out in droves to protect the land, despite facing false arrest and extreme violence by an increasingly thuggish and lawless police which acts more more like a fascist private militia. Continue reading

Not Waving But Drowning: UN Agenda 21 and the Designer Floods in the UK

You may be only just now waking up and rubbing the sleep out of your eyes to the news that the recent flooding of Britain is the result of EU policies to deliberately create wetlands in the UK ….. and that is shocking enough. For some, it’s been about as traumatic as when you discover that Father Christmas is actually your Dad. So then, to have to go on to learn that these EU directives are being driven by something deeply sinister, known as UN Agenda 21, may be more than you can take. If so, please don’t worry. Go and have a lie down…. but bookmark this page first, so that you can return later, hopefully with a nice of mug of tea and a chocolate biscuit, because this is really growing up time now. How Bears May Help Us Heal

Medical researchers and zoologists worked together to find that the bears’ wounds healed with almost no scarring, and were infection-free. The scientists hope, eventually, to find out exactly how the bears’ bodies heal while their body temperature, heart rate and metabolism are reduced. This could aid studies of human wound-healing. Continue reading
