It is said that when Britain is in the direst peril and needs him the most, King Arthur will arise from his grave and return. We know this because we used to hear rhymes about it while still in the cradle – bardic poems that hail from of an age that Time forgot, when our ancestors carved stories about the Once and Future King in the green and pleasant hills of Avalon and then left them there for the salvation of mankind.

Sacred Sex, Shamanism and Sovereignty

As a shaman, I work alongside the spirits that govern the land of our ancestors; they are the spirits of Sovereignty that, on the energetic level, is a huge force that gushes forth from the Rivers of Blood or the DNA of the ancestors that are buried in the land. It reaches the emotional intelligence of the people through the portals of these spiritual conduits, an Elder race whose role it is to guide the spiritual evolution of human beings. They are known in the British Isles as the Fae, the Gentry, the Sidhe or the Faeries. Other cultures have their own names for these spirits that appear to inhabit the betwixt and between – like the aesir of the Norse and the devas of the Vedics.

How shamans work with the spirits of the Land – otherwise known as the Fae

In my book Reclaiming Sovereignty: Shamanic Earth Magic, I explain about the shamanic relationship between humans and the spirits of the Land,  and about how shamans long ago worked with their own indigenous spirits to support the fertility and Sovereignty of the Land.

It is from that loving partnership between Man and Fae that the Sovereignty of the Land is derived, and shamanic sex rites are key to Sovereignty. Going back thousands of years into history, the right of Sovereignty was passed on to the newly crowned king during sex rites.
